Gary Gutierrez, CEO
Gary is a founding member and CEO of American River Caulking. Since 1998, he has grown the company from 3 people to 25 employees by landing Fortune 500 company projects with well-known general contractors throughout California. His experience includes the successful completion of a multitude of projects with major retail buildings, shopping centers, multi-story office buildings, underground parking facilities, large scale production facilities, agricultural facilities (Blue Diamond) and logistic distribution buildings like Fed-Ex, Amazon, Home Depot, and Walmart.
Gary started waterproofing in 1972 after graduating high school. He developed a passion for the business helping several large companies become successful and decided he should start his own. Prior to American River Caulking, Gary was a field superintendent for one of the largest home builders in Orange County, California. Working his way up and learning the business, he became VP of Construction for a smaller home builder in Riverside County. A short time later, Gary joined Mark Beamish to grow his business in Southern California. He opened the market during the construction boom in Las Vegas, NV. In 1998, Gary decided to branch out on his own in Northern California where the market was growing rapidly. Gary has developed a reputation in the industry for his integrity, tenacity, and quality in his work.
Mary Ann Gutierrez, CFO
Mary Ann is the CFO of American River Caulking (ARC). She is responsible for financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting and all the day to day financial operations of the company. In 1998, she and her husband Gary along with Richard Turner opened American River Caulking for business in Northern California. Since that time, the company has grown their revenues to exceed $3 million per year. She began her career in construction in 1979 quickly moving into project management and finance for The Baldwin Company in Orange County, California. Mary Ann manages a variety of aspects of the business including contract management, human resources.
Richard Turner, COO
Rich is a founding member and COO of American River Caulking since 1998. He is responsible for overall operations of the company including project management, scheduling, quality control, pre-construction services and sub-contractor management. Working with general contractors, Rich is skilled at ensuring each job and project is completed with precise and accurate detail. In addition to the day to day projects, Rich manages business development for the company as well. He is involved in special equipment development and research of new manufacturers and products to ensure that ARC stays on the cutting edge of the business.
Rich began his career in the Marine Corps. His past experience included running a heavy artillery unit for 6 years where ensuring the company safety was critical to the success of his mission and his team. Rich was responsible for storage of heavy firearms, ammunition loading, giving and taking orders, and working as a team. All of these skills including understanding the importance of precision and accuracy were applied to his construction business role. He acquired his construction knowledge working directly with Gary. When Gary moved to Northern California, he and Rich began working together in the caulking and waterproofing business. After years of building trust and mutual respect for client service and integrity, they launched American River Caulking which grew into this successful and reputable company.
